Large Scale Stone Carving

$50.00

Date: Saturday, August 29, 2026

Time: 10 AM - 1 PM

Instructor: Cyndie Young

Fee: $50 - Bring your own soft to medium material (15+ lbs.) or purchase from the club for .50/lb

Take your stone carving skills to the next level in this highly personalized workshop designed for just two students. Working with larger pieces of stone requires specialized techniques, powerful water-fed equipment, and plenty of hands-on guidance—making this an experience that's difficult to find outside a professional studio.

Students are encouraged to bring their own project ideas, whether it's a sculpture, garden stone, bowl, or abstract design. Instruction is tailored to your individual goals, with one-on-one coaching throughout the carving process. Learn how to safely rough out, shape, refine, and finish your work using professional-grade wet carving tools and diamond equipment.

This workshop is wet, messy, and incredibly fun! You'll have access to specialized equipment that most hobbyists don't own, giving you the opportunity to tackle projects that simply aren't possible with basic lapidary tools.

Stone may be purchased at a discounted price from the club or students may bring their own suitable rock (soft to medium material). Wear clothes and shoes that can get wet.
